Bla Bla

I discovered Bla Bla dolls when I was registering for my baby shower at Zoe and Jack back in August. The dolls are made in Peru using local artisans and made from all natural fibers. It is always nice to support a company that supports local communities and makes beautiful products. Vivi loves her pink pig Bla Bla rattle, and I would love to get her a Bla Bla baby doll. Today we were playing with her little rattle and I decided to snap some pictures. Hope you all enjoy.

Eight Months

Today, Vivi turned eight months old. I know I say this every month that goes by, but I cannot believe how quickly time passes. I feel like it goes even faster once you have kids. Vivi continues to achieve new milestones and discover new things about the world around her. Here is what Vivi is doing at seven months.

• Weighs approximately 17.5 pounds.
• Has 2 teeth, and the top ones are starting to come in.
• Still likes to watch Wonder Pets! and LOVES the theme song. She smiles every time she hears it.
• Goes to bed at 9ish and wakes up at 7:30ish. She has started waking up earlier so it is fun to see her before I leave for work in the morning.
• Puts herself to sleep every night and is getting better at nap time.
• The nap schedule has suddenly gone out the window but we are working hard to get it back on track!
• LOVES food! Right now she is eating oatmeal and rice cereals, peas, carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, cauliflower, corn, cucumbers, bananas, apples, avocados, pears, peaches, mango, papaya, blueberries, cherries, apricots and yogurt.
• Loves her blankie.
• Has great taste in music. She will kick her little feet to the beat. Don't know where she gets that from.
• Loves her brothers! She is very interested in Drake and Winston. Winnie loves her and loves the attention more. Drake is very protective of her, but not so interested in the hair pulling.
• Loves going for walks in her stroller. She is so interested in the world around her.
• Will lunge for your Blackberry if she sees it light up...and then puts it in her mouth.
• LOVES other babies.
• Loves reading books. We are making our way through the book of Haans Christian Andersen stories. We have a book worm on our hands!
• Loves to exercise her vocal chords. She is making all sorts of sounds, its only a matter of time before the words start flowing!
• Is learning baby sign language. We are working on hungry, sleepy, and diaper.
• Sits up like a big girl!
• Is scooting all over the place! She is very mobile and can move very effectively around the room. She gets up on her knees occasionally, it’s only a matter of time before she is crawling everywhere.
• Can stand up when holding onto something and is working on pulling up.
• Loves to be outside, especially when she is in her Johnny jump up.
• Graduated to size 3 diaper.
• Is wearing 3-6 and 6-9 month clothes.
• Loves when Daddy sings one of his many made up songs.

I love this little princess so much!

Johnny Jump Up

Vivi L-O-V-E-S her johnny jump up. This is a recent development as she used to scream and cry every time she was in it. It was stuffed in the closet during the winter, as we don't have a very good place for it in the house. But, now that the beautiful weather has come, we set it up outside on the patio and Vivi cannot get enough. Of course, this is a win-win for all of us. Vivi is constantly entertained by the jump up as well as the boys running around chasing after tennis balls, and we can work in the yard or just enjoy the sun. Unfortunately, there are only so many days left that we can actually sit outside with Vivi at 3pm. Before we know it the temperatures will be reaching 107 degrees, and our house will be 85 with the air going all day long. I am not looking forward to those Texas summer days, but am going to enjoy the beautiful days spring days that we have right now.

Chaos!

It has been one doozy of a week. I spent the first 3 days of the week working 8am to 10pm, pretty much living in an auditing induced haze. We were working on a special project at work that came to a close on Thursday. We were awarded for all of our hard work by having Thursday afternoon and today off work! It was Ah-maz-ing. I feel like tomorrow should be Sunday, but I still have 2 days ahead of me! While all of this was going on Trey came down with a horrible cold and was exhausted from being sick and taking care of Vivi every night. He did such a good job with her and I think it was great for them to have some baby-Daddy time. Unfortunately, Vivi caught Trey's cold and has been a fussy girl for a past few days. I was worried she was getting an ear infection and took her to the doctor today, fortunately it's just a cold she needs to get over.

A bright spot in all of this was that I found out today I received a Bloggy award from a fellow blogger friend and Theta sister, Jessica, who has the two cutest girls! Thank you! I was so excited to hear that my tiny little blog is gaining more followers. Hopefully it is just what I need to be motivated to write more.

What a Wonderful Weekend

Today is a very special day for me. It marks my very first Mother's Day and is also our 1 year wedding anniversary! To make the weekend even better Trey's birthday was on Friday. In honor of this trifecta of special events, we decided to spend the weekend as a family at the ranch. So Friday, after work, we loaded up the car and hit the road. Yesterday, Trey's parents and his sister and her family joined us. We went fishing and had a wonderful dinner last night. It was so fun spending some time with the kids. Vivi and Lizzie had so much fun playing together, and Luke has found a new best friend in Drake. Here are some pictures from our weekend, of course I forgot the charger to my good camera, so this is the best I could do. So typical.
