Today was a bitterly cold day so Vivi and I kept busy by making cookies. I love love love gingersnap cookies, especially with a cup of hot tea. It brings back memories of growing up and visits to see Grandma and Granddad. Since I was feeling sentimental Vivi and I brought out my Grandma's recipe and they turned out so good!

Happy 2011!
We welcomed in 2011 with a family dinner, a movie, and a bed time of 10pm. Yep, we are officially old. With all of the traveling we have been doing back and forth between Wichita and Fort Worth we were both too exhausted to make a night out of it. But that suits me just fine. Instead of a rowdy party we spent the night biding adieu to 2010 as a family.

2010 was a good year. We enjoyed watching Vivi grow into a little toddler. It is amazing how much these little people develop in such a short period of time. This time last year she was not even rolling over yet and still drinking out of a bottle. Now she can run around on her two little feet and feed herself food from the table! The year was also exhausting as we tried to balance family, friends, and our careers. But without those strains we would not have been able to realize what changes needed to be made to best benefit our family. So today I am thankful for some of the stressful days, nights, and weeks because without them we would not be welcoming in 2011 in Wichita Falls.
2011 will be a year of so many opportunities and possibilities. I will be embracing my role as a stay at home mom and could not be happier. Instead of splitting my time in so many directions I will be able to focus on what is truly important, relationships. I look forward to making new friends in Wichita Falls and maintaining the friendships with my wonderful friends scattered about the country. I cannot wait to spend time with my sweet Vivi for the next two months before Cade is born and we are so excited to welcome this new little guy into our family. This will be a year of transition and adjustment and full of amazing moments. I look forward to them all.
